Towing Electric Pack

Has anybody recently bought the towing electric pack for the RRS recently please?
They are out of stock across the board at LR dealers and also the guy Daz recommended to me from Ebay.

I would consider an aftermarket kit if one was available that was as easy to fit and deemed safe

Any ideas on where to look for stock?

Theo

Yellow pages - look for your local Indespension franchise/outlet - they sell/ fit towkits for any make of car and rent out trailers too. There won't be cheap and the only experience I have had of them the totally knackered the wiring loom of my ex's Freelander by trying to splice the cabling into it. Freelander had not been on the market long so they had no experience of fitting towbars to Freelanders - we had so many problems that the car had to go back to the local dealers at Indespension's expense to have the wiring loom repaired. That's what happens when you leave a women at home on her own to arrange things for cars - she thought LR's tow bar way too expensive and it was her car so she would fit what she wanted..................................... and regretted it for ever after Rolling with laughter

The other place that might be able to do it is the local Ivor Williams Trailers sales outlet, either google them or Yellow pages 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced

I paid about 375 last September fitted, and well worth it as I don't think this is an easy DIY fit (see links on this forum)
Great tow car though, since being laid off, I have been using the RRS and my trailer to shift cars around the counrty from body shells to FFRR's no probs at all, will pull anything!

Anybody need a motor shifted give me a call?

Sorry forgot to mention that this was an indepentant fit, not main dealer so provided the loom is from LR there should be no probs?

It is an easy DIY job - about an hour - parts £75 from memory! I fitted mine to the first RRS - took them off and fitted to the current RRS Thumbs Up

Not a biggie , You need to take out some trim in the boot / Remove light / Take out a loom and replace with the loom in the kit , which just plugs into your existing connectors. Dropping the spare tyre will give room to feed cable through etc . . Didnt find it difficult just need to follow the Instructions and all is ok.

Per Monkey says - doddle - instructions very clear. Once you have access - you pull a section of loom and replace with the Tow electrics loom - what stories have you heard and i can comment - really is easy to do - biggest hurdle was persuading the light cluster out w/o damging paint or the unit but really nothing to it...
