I'd love to but unfortunately I'm not a full RR fledgling yet....hoping to be soon though.

Nevertheless, a wee feeler wouldn't go a miss. So anyone up for this, feel free to suggest dates, venue etc...

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

The Kielder Event in May is just south of the border (measured in yards not miles). A lot of guys and gals travel from Scotland for that - but the Disco's outnumber the Sports about 10 to 1 on these events. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini
Disco 4 TDv6 HSE Ipanema
Defender 90, 200tdi CSW

For the Scottish contingent I would be happy to arrange something - I had thought about a get together somewhere between Striling and Perth or even LRE Dunkeld, thing is LRE Dunkeld is going to cost at least 30 a head to do the offroad course in your own car and have guidance from their staff. There is the possibility of doing a summer drive in company which will only cost you a picnic and the fuel and might take in some very mild offroading. Somewhere like the roads that follow General Wade's Military roads from the Wallace Monument at Bridge of Allan round the Glens to Loch Tay then up to somewhere like House of Bruar north of Pitlochry, depends what the Scottish guys want and of course anybody else who might want to travel north or is coming north for their credit crisis busting holiday touring Scotland.
If there were to be a meet then it would have to be in July or August - even better for those for the south to came and join in as part of the school holidays!
Another possibility is to arrange something for the same weekend as the West Argyll 4x4 guys are doing their forest Drives in the Forests around Lochgilphead - this then allows some offroading on some of their non scratchy routes and to take in the Forest Roads which are gravel roads.
The problem with arranging anything in Scotland is that we have two distinct groups of members - those who live in the NE and those who live in/near to the Forth/Clyde valley/ Central belt and Ayrshire, and there is a huge distance between the two groups. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

July / August would be good as we are considering a credit tent crunching trip to your part of the world and being in the company of people who know the good runs would be very enjoyable, although only going on "non scratchy and 20" freindly tracks" keep me posted Thumbs Up

Shocked
That was easter last year, fantastic weather for March Wink it's so windy up there that the trees darn't poke above the heather.
Until Fountain Forestry came along there were no trees growing there for about 6,000 years, now the RSPB own lots of it and will not allow any further expansion of the forestry. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh
