Yes electromagnetic fields do affect radio waves, just look at what happens when you're listening to MW or LW radio in your car and you drive under power lines. |

I have a quad band router it is on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz and can use both bands together to give up to 600Mbs, handy for streaming HD video There are 2 other WiFi networks on the street where I live but they are far enough away they don't interfere with me. I don't use those "home plugs" as they broadcast so much RF Sh it that they interfere with my ham radio Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh Clan Cameron |

Oooh be interested to know what sort of router that is. I am about to replace mine and have been with Netgear for the last two routers as my previous dlink was intermittent.

Yeah, the latest Netgear Rangemax routers do dual band. And they have that funky blue light on them too!

I have been using a Iplate since the end of last year and have seen my BB speed increase by 1.5 Mbs. I did try removing the bell wire connection first (are you sure you have not go this connection? I had and my house was built in 2000) but this only gave a speed increase of 1/2 Mb.

Well, I have moved the cordless phone base-station and that has helped............................... the biggest difference though was when I unplugged an LED bedside light that I recently got from Ikea. I knew it was creating some sort of RF interference because when I plugged it into the socket nearest the radio, FM reception disappeared into a wall of crackling! It's the Ikea Jansjo style table lamp http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20128738 that has a transformer built into the plug............................. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
