Sounds like it could be an actuator issue which will require stealer assistance and recalibration, I know, I had the exact same fault that was SUPPOSED to be on early D3 cars only.......mine was an 06.  L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

Found the emergency release guys. But I had to remove the plastic around the gear selecctor to get to it, anyway I gave it a good tug!!! (as you do), all happened. Long story short? Had to have it lifted on to a low loader and taken to stealers. I spoke to them at 5 o clock tonight.
