Hi Everyone,
Found this site and have been reading and lurking for a couple of days and decided to join.

I am in the process of looking for a SUV (do a bit of long distance, bush and town driving) and have narrowed it down to the RRS or the new ML. Have had a couple of Toyota Landcruisers in the past but am looking for something a little different.

Saw the new ML in the flesh the other day and it looks great but am being drawn back to the RRS for some reason! I am going to wait till I can drive both vehicles though before I make a decision. What I did not like about the ML was that you could not see the corners of the vehicle at all so learning its dimensions when parking could prove to be a challenge! On the other hand though we are getting the ML 320 CDI and it sounds like the engine is brilliant.

Decision decisions!!

Anyway great site and very informative! Cool

Welcome hokoyo,

I agree with you about the new ML and I gather that it is a huge leap forward from the last version. The engine is indeed very good but the problem could bes everything else that they bolt onto it (except maybe the gearbox).

I know Land Rover have had their problems and RR’s (not sports) have hardly been paragons of perfection. But if the 2003 E320cdi we have got is anything to go by then I would not want to take one very far from civilization because it will let you down. They just don't seem to have have the nuts and bolts done up right and it has certainly been the least reliable car I have ever owned and that includes various Italian stuff right back to the early 80's.[/u] 11 XFR

Guday M@verik,
I know none are perfect and i must admit that if i am halfway between Paraburdoo and Nammuldi i would not like to be stranded on the side of the road.

Speaking of that i have fond memories of my disco TD5 where the bolt that holds the rear sway bar onto the axle decided to walk and left me with a very intersting drive halfway across the Serengeti in Tanzania! Shocked

Hey all,

I've been hanging around as a guest for a few days and decided to register as my delivery date draws near. Hopefully I should be taking delivery of my RRS TD6 HSE (Java/Alpaca/Privacy/PTI) next week.

I didn't know I was buying one until last week and have been very lucky to get hold of one at such short notice. Used a car broker that has actually put me and the wife in our past few cars. He always comes up trumps!

For the past few years I've been a died in the wool BMW driver and was very impressed with the RRS I test drove a couple of weeks ago. The rest as they say is history!

Will post pics and comments when I take delivery!

Cheers

The sport has been wonderful, the handling and comfort of the ride is great!
Perviously, was thinking of getting the X5 but while looking around came across the sport. Totally gald that I made the right choice.

A friend of mine works at local LR dealership was able to get me "employee discount" on accessories. I got the sill tread plates, roof rails and bars, and the cargo space tray. Can't wait til snow season to get hold of sport's full capibility!!! 06 RRS HSE Java Black/Ebony

Please post some close up pics of the roof rails and bars. I've been considering getting these, but I'd like to see what they look like on the car first. Matt

Hello

Hi all,

Just found this forum from the rangerovers.net forum. Unfortunately still waiting on delivery of my RRS TDV6 SE Bonatti Grey/Ebony/Rhodium. Ordered in early July and told would be around early November delivery, Land Rover ordering system is not very up to date so not sure when it will arrive although my dealer assures me that November still looks OK, even though the system 'bulletin date' is showing January !

Just have to be patient I guess although not knowing is a P in the A.

cheers
Andrew

Anyways,

cheers!
