Just put my Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snows back on using 19" RRS rims. I really like these tyres, but they do wear pretty quickly, which is why I now need to buy a new set. Won't hesitate to buy the same again and I have sourced a set from Kwik Fit, fully fitted at £158 a tyre. That was substantially cheaper than buying Online where each tyre was quoted at around £200 each, obviously not fitted.

Bob, my tyres arrived at the Kwik Fit depot today and guess what, 2 of them had the "NO" marking and 2 of them didn't. The tyres looked otherwise identical (exactly the same tread pattern, size, markings etc). Kwik Fit couldn't explain the difference and rang their technical department who confirmed that the NO marking meant that the tyre was intended for a Porsche Cayenne but that there was no difference between the 2 types of tyre and that they could be mixed up together. That didn't quite "feel" right to me so I inspected the tyres again and spotted that one pair was marked as being made of Polyester tread and sidewall (shown in tiny lettering) whilst the other set (with the NO marking) was marked as being made of Rayon tread and sidewall. So I asked Kwik Fit to ring Pirrelli technical department and check which version was intended for the RRS. Pirrelli confirmed that the NO version was just intended for Porsche vehicles and they could not recommend it for the RRS as it "had not been tested on that vehicle". They therefore recommended fitting the version without the NO marking. I pointed out that I had tested the version with the NO marking as those markings are present on the set of these tyres I have used the last 2 winters on the RRS (which are now worn out). Nevertheless I went with the non NO marked versions as suggested by Pirelli but also because Kwik Fit could source another pair of those whereas they claimed there were no other NO marked tyres "in the country".

But LR Switzerland recommend 20" so don't know how that would effect warranties etc. TDV8 with optional dog. |

like shmoogle i think the brembos also fit the 19", see with AngelXXX but i think with 19" they have to change a cable that goes to the calipers if not the brakes wont fit in.

The 19"'s work just fine with the Brembo's and the TDv8 without any modification. Used them for 10,000 miles now and no problem at all. And a noticeably more comfortable ride than on 20"'s, plus the Pirelli's definitely stick to tarmac (wet, dry or icey) much better than the Conti's and also work quite well off road (where the Conti's are frankly a total liability). Mind you, the 20"'s definitely look a lot better - always thought the 19"'s lack style. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini
