United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black
Upgrade to TDV8 or Supercharged??

I currently own (from new) a TDV6 HSE - imported from Holland in March 2006, but full UK spec. Low mileage - approx 16,700 to date.

I'm interested in taking advantage of the slump in used car prices to upgrade to a TDV8 or maybe even a Supercharged RRS . Ideally I'd like to get one on an 07/57 plate.

I've spotted one or two TDV8's at around £32 - 35K and a Supercharged Evil or Very Mad at £32K.

As I only do a relatively low mileage fuel consumption is less important & I don't mind buying a high mileage car. However can anyone give me an idea of what ACTUAL average mpg I could realistically expect from a Supercharged RRS?

Also any views on what I could expect to get for my TDV6 HSE would be helpful.

Thanks guys.

Depends on mix of driving.

Mrs ST does mainly town driving in ours during the week and averages about 22/23mpg.

On a run to Protaris which is mainly motorway averaging 120km/h that shoots up to 33-35mpg.

S/C urban expect 12-15mpg Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

My TDv8 will be a year old in 2 weeks time, and it has 12000miles up. Average mpg over that time is 27mpg, includes 6 motorway hauls from Central Scotland to New Forest, mostly fast A roads with minimal commuting as I don't work in town. That has worked out at 1mpg better over the same period and similar driving conditions than my TDv6 - but I drive the TDv8 much harder than I drove the v6.
Someone I know reckons he doesn't see better than 12mpg on the trip computer from his S/C Big Cry but then I think he drives it in Sport mode all the time so 6th gear in his RRS has hardly been used Rolling with laughter 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

You should also look at the resale value afterwards which should be better for TDV8 than it would be for SC 2008 RRS TDV8 HSE, Java black, Alpaca,.....
