What parts needed to fit Brembos

Does anyone know what parts you need to fit Brembo calipers on the front? You don't stop playing because you get old, You get old because you stop playing.

Calipers (obviously), backplates (ie the dustshields), discs and pads.

Make sure you get the correct calipers if you don't get them from LR, lots of useful stuff on this topic here http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic17868.html?highlight=brembo

I fitted Brembos to my D3 (along with the uprated rear discs off the S/C to match), and these were all the parts required, the existing hydraulic hoses fit straight into the new calipers.

Watch out for the pads - £100 a set! Cheers

I seem to recall you also need a set of connecting wires for the brake pad wear indicators and I don't believe they come with the pads.......but I may be wrong.

Std sensor wires fitted mine, if they are OK then re-use them. Def 19" rims are the smallest required - I run RRS 19"s over Brembos on my D3 Thumbs Up Cheers

I have a 2006 (reg Jun 06) HSE with non Brembo brakes, I’ve bought some Brembo callipers & pads and now want to get them fitted. So does anyone know what size discs I need to buy and what the part numbers are for the dust covers? I looked on the D3 forum and on eBay and I’m now even more confused as to what discs I need? Confused

I think the confusion is caused by the Dynamic Pack that entailed Brembos being fitted also came with the 20" wheels but the Brembos only physically require 19"s Cheers

Hope you got the right calipers! Info on those fitted to my D3 here http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic17868.html

Discs are the std RRS supercharged spec available through LR as are the dust shields, the part numbers are somewhere on the D3 forum but I can't find them Embarassed there is only one part number for each bit so it isn't confusing to LR parts... Cheers

Thanks for the response, although I have to say I'm still confused. I've read the D3 topic but what could be the potential issue from the incorrect calipers, don't they fit or do they just squeal a bit?

There are Brembo calipers that fit and don't squeal as per the LR fitted to Supercharged models.

There are Brembo calipers that fit but will squeal (ie those not having the two square blocks fitted), and I guess there are a myriad of Brembo calipers that won't physically fit, hence my comment that I hope you got the right calipers.

Where did you get your calipers from - can you post a picture? Cheers

I bought RRS calipers from a certain popular auction site, they should arrive tomorrow and I will post a picture when they do. If they are the wrong type then they will go back on the auction site! I may also then abandon the upgrade idea as it seems to be hard going working out what I need to do. Thanks for the reply, will post the pics soon.
