United States 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Bonatti Grey
Stereo light and Navigation stays on after locking

Looking for a bit of advice:

I recently purchased a 06 RRS HSE so it's all kinda still new to me.

Here is my problem: The car is locked and everything is off (no issue), I then open the door using the remote to reach in a get something out of the car. The navigation screen lights up with the Land Rover symbol and the stereo lights up to show the clock, when I lock the car using the remote, both of these stay on. I have to reopen the car, insert the key in the ignition, remove and then relock. Surely this is not right.

Can anyone help out here?

I think they go off after a short while. My 08 exhibits similar traits. I think this behaviour is probably therefore normal since my car seems to behave normally in all other aspects! Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

Update

So I tried as per discussion and left the "lights on" as it were. Sure enough, after an hour when I rechecked, they had gone off.

How quirky.

Thanks for the responses.

The D3 does similar. The car systems wait for a few minutes before shutting down, presumably to see if the shutdown is only short before a restart.

Totally normal, every RRS and D3 I have seen does the same thing. Cheers
