Dropped the car off first thing this morning, service manager thinks it will be finished today. They gave me a FL2 auto as a loaner, I quite like it. Speed Limits! not where I live!

Ok car is back, and guess what, the knocking clanging noise has gone. The dealer told me it's all to do with the ACE and the anti-roll bar, they have basicaly replaced these parts. I think that is pretty much what everyone believes to be the problem, so hopefully the last I hear of it, well on my car anyway. Thats German efficiency for you They don't mess about over here. The TSB linked below was just issued here in North America, it addresses front or rear suspensions knocks on cars NOT fitted with Dynamic Response. It applies to both RRS and Disco/LR3, regardless of year of manufacture. Sorry if it's a duplicate post, but I quickly browsed this thread and couldn't find mention of it, plus sometimes we get things fixed a bit later here in the US...

Can anyone confirm which fuse to remove to check if suspension noise is due to the dynamic response system? I checked the manual and it states fuse 23 in the engine compartment fuse box. I removed this and still have the same knocking noise. I just want to confifm this is the correct fuse before I go bask to the dealer yet again and am fobbed off with it being the "characteristic of the vehicle"

I see in that TSB that it mentions "Due to paint wear" - you would think that they would engineer something as important to the driving pleasure to be able to last a bit longer than wearing off a micron or two of paint! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

OK went back in to my dealer earlier, the TSB they had was for cars without ACE, however like I said they had a Sport in a couple of weeks ago with the same problem, they have now rectified three cars, what i have done is attach the Job sheet for you Chris, hopefully you can take this into your dealer and they will give it a go, at least they could possibly call the meister at Striewe and get the info from them. Hope this helps. You can see a larger copy in my gallery.

ACE used to be fitted to Disco2 and was the accronym for Active Cornering Enhancement, what RRS has is a developement called ARM - Active Roll Mitigation.......................... basically it's a development of ACE 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

No, they have'nt used a repair from the TB which refers to non-ACE cars, what they have done is after consultation with LR and other dealers is come up with this fix, which has worked in 3 other cars. The parts replaced are the stabiliser arm and the rubber bushes and fixings. Speed Limits! not where I live!
