The one I drove on the landrover experience had the same fault, the guy said it was a problem with some of the earlier ones, don't remember what the cure was (if) Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Ummmmm interesting, mine is a 57 plate looks like a visit to the dealer for that plus the knocking from the front end but I know now what their response to the knocking will be, "It's down to the 22" wheels sir" |

KLM are you using only one key fob most of the timeand then occassionally picking up the other one which has a near flat battery due to lack of use? Remember the battery charges through the ignition slot, it isn't a changable battery like Land Rovers with the same fob used to have 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

It could be something as simple as a loose battery terminal connection,(dealers sometimes don't check these on a pdi |

I had my starter motor replaced as it would do the same thing. Sometime started first go and others it took 6 goes. According to LR in Brisbane it was a sticking solenoid. Hope ths helps you. Other than my TDV8 is runnng smooth as... Steve |

I had the same problem at the beginning with my TDV6, usually happened at the 2nd or 3rd start of the day. I believe I was too quick inserting then turning the key. Now I insert the key, wait a bit (sometimes wait for the "checking system"message to go out) then start, never had the problem again. '08 RRS TDV8

Jonathan - in this colder weather you must make sure your glow plugs are ready before turning the engine. When the glowplug light goes off in the display the plugs are ready. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

It also happens when the engine is warm guys? I will check what you are suggesting though and see if it works!
