Got any top tips for solving niggles with an 08.5MY TDV8?

Hi all,
Just to say I've had my TDV8 for 4 days now and it's awesome! Amazed by the power delivery in such a vast car!
Unforuntately I was late getting to the dealers when I picked it up so literally paid for it and drove off without having time to sort out any 'dealer settings'.
The main one that is really gripping me is the passenger (and driver) seatbelt BONG!!! (as in the noise it makes rather than the student ornament!) If I put ANYTHING in the passenger seat then the seatbelt warner continueously winges at me!

I did a search on here and found that it can be turned off by buckling/unbuckling the seat belt 9 times.... tried that, no joy! Don't know if I did it correctly, ie do you have to let the belt retract all the way each time? Can you still use ths trick on the 08.5MY?!

The other pain is the 3 flash lane change indicators! Can I disable them or is it a dealer only setting? Just bugs me when wanting to do a quick lane change and it's still there flashing away!

I'm not fussy at all!!!

Cheers all.

The seatbelt warning BONG can be disabled - Insert the buckle into its holder and the release immediately - in,out ,in,out,in,out,in,out............. etc etc in rapid sucsession [ no need to let belt retract ] If I remember it needs to be inserted/released several times BUT I havent heard if this is still the case on an 08.5 model year Confused

As for the 3 flash indicator --- I think that's a good thing and wouldn't want to turn it off .. not sure you can anyway?

Keep us informed about the seatbelt as LR might have changed this feature in the 08.5MY 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Is the seatbelt fix a permanent one, or one you have to do everytime you turn the ignotion on (a la On the Go Sat nav input fix)

Have you done the in/out enough times? It needs to be 9 times... you'll see the seatbelt warning light go out on the binnacle on the 9th in/out. It could of course be though, that as mentioned above, it doesn't work on MY08.5 cars.

I guess you need some weight on the seat though? I did it on an empty seat, so no seat belt warning was showing

Key in ignition, turn to switch electrics on. Sit in seat and put buckle in the buckle lock 9 times within a minute. After the ninth time a bong will sound and it's sorted. Do the reverse to reset! "I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather.....

Just got my good lady to try the whole 9 times thing whilst I was driving.... no joy.
I reckon she did it wrong to be honest but so far, not looking too hopefully. I'll have another try later on but I'll be peeved if Ford have decided to remove this trick.

It is possible that you have found an unintended 2008.5MY modification! Might be easier to drive round with whatever you normally carry on the front passenger seat, excluding your good lady that is!, in the foot well - at least if it is down there it cannot be launched into the dash or screen if you have to stop suddenly 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Or , alternativley, you could fasten the seat belt and place whatever items you want on the front seat? Thumbs Up If you dont live on the EDGE, you are taking up too much space!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thing the "while I was driving" part is the problem. As far as I know, the ignition should be switched on, but the engine should NOT be running. 2010 Sport Supercharged with all options apart from TV and Extended leather (wish I had the latter) (Previously 2007 RRS S/C)
