as long as you have system restore on then you can restore the system back to an older date - i.e. if it was all ok last week then just pick a date from then and restore back to there - once you've done this update your AVG (or virus protection) immediately and run a full scan

Kaine i just did a restore here as Firefox keeps locking so gonna try to see if that works will do the same in the shop tomorrow

I installed Norton and it slowed-down my computer considerably. Despite losing a year's subscription, I uninstalled it and replaced with McAfee Security Suite which is much better. It can be bought off ebay fot £10-15, highly recommended. I also have AVG (shield off), which I run regularly, and Ad-Aware oftens finds things the other two doesnt. Again Jay, put a few onto your computer and run/scan regularly. Better safe that sorry mate!!!  MY12 SDV6 HSE Sumatra/Ebony/Piano/Sidesteps/Privacy/Overfinch Olympus/JLR DRLs

I'm sh*t with computers, but Kaine is right about system restore being a possible quick fix. Have you got a decent anti-virus installed Jay.., that's really essential to prevent nasties getting into your computer in the first place. After that, get plenty of free spyware software from download.com, especially AVG, Ad-Aware and Spybot, and scan regularly. Good Luck Mate! |
