Josh,

I'm happy to prove it to you....let me know if you can get to central London and I'll happily arrange a test drive via a LR dealer who uses TC as their 'in house' tuning company.

Noddy,

Our conversion is undetectable to all LR diagnostics and thank you for investigating the JE option...they are quite clever at using words to 'put people off the scent'...they do indeed use a computer to upgrade the ecu but so do I...only difference is that TC do it by OBD and JE open the ecu...funny how they still fail to mention that FACT!! Wink

ps Come on Jonathan (MD at JE) open your wallet and let's do a deal Wink

We are tuning via obd now.
As for LR diagnostics, i cant think of a way this machine would know that the ecu had been tuned.
It is quite possible for LR diagnostics too overwrite our tune back too standard, i have been working on a way too disable this feature however this would then make it obvious that the ecu had been tuned.
A catch 22 situation.

I know this is slightly off topic, but I have had experience of JE parts and found them to be excellent . Fitted a chip and intercooler for my old P38A and the difference it gave the car was outstanding. I would use them again but this time around turbochip met my needs better.
Morale of the story, Horses for course's. Wink Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

TC and JE,

Pardon my ignorance yet again, but does the "Catch 22" that JE describes apply to all modifications to the Ecu by any tuning company? TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

All tuning companies who 'flash' update an ecu via the OBD or re-chip run the slight risk that the manufacturer could update an ecu and 'remove' the upgrade without knowing.

We could stop this process happening as JE suggest but if we did the LR diagnostics would report a canbus communication error.

In 6 years I have only had this happen to a peugeot 407 when it was recalled by the Peugeot for a cold start problem.

LR dealers do not routinely update the engine management ecu and if, and its a big 'IF', they did we would happily re upgrade an ecu for no charge.

We've done 270 TDV6 engines over the last 14 months and we havent had any issues whatsoever. Chips with everything

This is of more concern too vehicles in germany where they can use the vehicles top speed but LR have released updates for the TDV6 engine ecu, the update was mostly smoothing of the speed limiter cut-in and increase the speed limiter on some models. (this was due too brochure numbers being higher that the vehicle was actually limited too)

LR diagnostics now default too these later tunes when reprograming TDV6 ecu's, I dont belive the dealer is required too do these updates unless requested (this is probly only for german dealers)

It however makes no difference, like turbochip said 270 ecu's and no comebacks.

I am not sure if this was mentioned before, is there a chip solution for gas powered U.S. spec vehicles? If so, what kind of performance gains should one expect on a Sport S/C?
