Facelift screen/head units

My MY10 head unit has dab/radio/CD/sat nav etc and is the touch screen version which is a vast improvement on the 2005 version I had.

I’ve seen what looks like a better unit from a 2012 Autobiography.

Question is, are the facelift screens/head units interchangeable ? So for instance, if I wanted a unit which had TV is it a straight swap out ? Would I be upgrading or just getting a different style unit ?

Had a Google but can’t see anything definitive amongst the sea of CarPlay aftermarket options.

Thanks as ever !

Do you have the TV tuner already installed? if not you will need that as well, on a MY12 it is under the drivers seat I think, mind you the TV option is about as useless as a chocolate teapot, just a gimmick, the bms system will switch it off after a few mins. unless you keep the engine running.

Thanks Col - so scrap the TV option. Is the rest of the display stuff any different/better or worth having over the MY10 ?

I personally think the later interface looks visualy more pleasing to the eye, does it do any more than the earlier version, can't really answer that but I suspect not.

You can’t easily interchange 2010 and 2012 displays
