Tdv8 smoking when cold

So today I noticed our 2010 tdv8 smoking when I put my foot down a bit to go up an incline from a junction. Did a big puff of bluish/grey smoke that cleared and didn’t do it again. Have recently had an issue with the dipstick popping out and oil leaking from the tube. Found the o ring very loose and the dipstick had no resistance in the tube. New o ring and it fits the same as others I have seen. I’m wondering if the crankcase breather can block or restrict oil back to the sump and some is draining down to the turbo inlet overnight and burning off on first startup with boost pushing it into the inlet. Anyone had this before?

The crankcase breather system vents gases back in to the inlet of the driver's side turbo (RHD), so if the separator isn't perfect you could get some getting through.

Otherwise, could be signs of an oil leak in the turbo - weep leading to some oil getting through to the intercooler where it's then picked up when throttle is opened. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thank you for the reply.I set pre heat this morning and didn’t notice any smoke at all. Gave it the beans and it did nothing! Same when I left work, nothing. It’s very odd, but I do wonder if the car sits a couple of days the oil drains down the breather and sits in the right turbo intake and then gets blown into engine. I’d expect turbo seals would cause smoke all the time, especially at idle and then when booted would smoke. I’ll try it again tomorrow but hoping it’s the breather. I’d like to know how the breather works, as in should it open at a certain pressure, in like to understand how things work!
