The crankcase breather system vents gases back in to the inlet of the driver's side turbo (RHD), so if the separator isn't perfect you could get some getting through.

Thank you for the reply.I set pre heat this morning and didn’t notice any smoke at all. Gave it the beans and it did nothing! Same when I left work, nothing. It’s very odd, but I do wonder if the car sits a couple of days the oil drains down the breather and sits in the right turbo intake and then gets blown into engine. I’d expect turbo seals would cause smoke all the time, especially at idle and then when booted would smoke. I’ll try it again tomorrow but hoping it’s the breather. I’d like to know how the breather works, as in should it open at a certain pressure, in like to understand how things work! |
