I think I read 400ml to a full tank Which is 200;1 which sounds a bit high Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.

I also use it and have done so since early on after the purchase of the car, some 7 years ago. From my experience it did nothing for the MPG, it did make it quieter and come MOT my emissions are incredibly low. Regarding the question its 200:1 I use. I've got a used water bottle with a long neck and have done the arithmetic and marked the bottle. It gets topped up to the mark. I put it in the tank whilst getting the disposable pump glove and then fill up. I only use regular shell diesel. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue. |

Nothing wrong with adding to a tank full it was a common practice for me when running our old tdi on veg oil and then our tdv6 d3 on derv. Mind you I ran the old tdi on all sorts of stuff and it's still going at over 250k miles on original engine and injectors |

We used to use it to great effect on an old straight 6, 3litre Opel Senator petrol engine.

Well that's you opinion, to which you are entiltled too, but then again you seem to have to have an opinion on almost everything. A local to me MOT Station often gets diesels that just fail the smoke test** - their advice is to run some two-stroke or Whynns through with a couple of tankfuls - guess what ? second time they pass. So, IMHO that quantifies as "empirical evedence". ** including well maintained diesels running on decent branded fuel. FWIW I've run new diesels for the past 30 years or so using either Millers or two-stroke - every single one has covered 250/350kplus miles, still running well and never, ever an engine issue with any of them. Wheras other people I know, who don't use additives have issues. What it boils down to is those that use additives will continue to do so (after all it cannot do any harm). Do you have any "empirical evedence" to the contrary ? Those that are against additives will not use them. You contradict yourself anyway by promoting "decent fuel" because the fuel companies themselves tell us they put additives in it ! 2006 RRS 2.7 HSE. |
