Elec Fault after Engine Swap

Good evening Troops.

Hope you’re all well.

Looking to pick some brains if possible….I recently swapped out my failed engine on my RR Sport 2010 3.0. (Turbo went…engine seized) After getting to the point where I’m ready to fire it up I’ve come up against an electrical fault….. the Ignition doesn’t seem to want to stay on and it won’t turn over.

The battery was goosed so I’ve swapped that out anyway. I’ve moved various relays around and checked fuses, etc. The earth is connected and seems ok. 400Amp fuse been replaced.

If anyone else has come up against this I’d be interested to know what the issue was and how you went about finding it.

Thanks in advance.

Have you cleared the fault codes.

Good evening.

Thanks for the reply.

No I haven’t cleared the codes actually…I guess I assumed they wouldn’t have any effect after the battery was disconnected for so long. I’ll arrange for this to get done. You reckon this would cause the ignition not to stay on?

I’ve been told if the brakes haven’t been blead properly then this could be a a cause too…. Would / could that be a cause? Sounds like a long shot to me but happy to be proven wrong. Every day a school day when it comes to these things!!

What’s it saying on the dash? Press brake when starting? If so just try smashing the brake pedal down a few times and hold it. Mine will usually start with barely tapping the brake pedal since it’s going off the electronic switch. However, now and then when I work on it it wants to read the pressure sensor and that can take a lot more force to trigger. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

Will give that a go mate.

Pretty sure it doesn’t say anything….Ignition On…. Press Brake…. Press the Bottom to start and it all just goes off.
