Radiator Viscous Fan

Morning Folks
I have a 2.7 tdv6 2008 84000 miles
I think my cooling fan is faulty as when the engine is cold the fan is fully engaged on start up and continues to be fully engaged .
I’ve turned the blades by hand and they are stiff and not free at all .
There is also a loud roar .
Does this sound as if the fan is gubbed
Can I also ask what is the electrical connection to the fan

I think it does a self test after startup, but if it carries on for longer than 1 minutes, you have a problem

The electrical connector tells the fan to run harder (engine ecu controlled), for example when the A/C is on or when coolant hot.
Also has a speed sensor

Pressing the ECO button on the climate panel, should change the note/speed of the fan and this is a good test

Thanks for the help think my fan is pumped it’s doesn’t stop after start up it keeps running and there is no difference when the eco button is activated/de activated.
So I think I need to invest in a fan πŸ‘

Mine does it upon first start for approx 40 meters. Then I reach a T junction and I notice the noise has gone. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

Read the engine fault codes and see if any fan problems reported.

The car is going into local Indy garage for a intermittent suspension fault and a general health check so will get them to check .
