Could this be the prop shaft? I got underneath and they is around half inch play I can move it half inch each way should there be any play? |

I had a similar noise and thought it was propshaft. Turned out not to be but I don't think you should be able to turn your propshaft at all - so half an inch is a lot (as the actress said to the bishop.) The question is whether it is the UJs or the diff... Robin

Thanks for the feedback had a good look underneath this weekend as put new discs and pads on the front and all look good, I think the next thing to look at is draining the oil from the diff to see if there is any metal contamination.

Sounds like you need a good local indie to take it to. Not sure about ones in Kent and Sussex (where I am) is probably a bit too far, but let me know if Heathfield is within your range - as Kent is a pretty big county... Robin
