Likewise... I am 6'4" and had the rear seats down for furniture transport on several occasions without it impairing my driving position... I prefer to drive with the backrest fairly upright though, so maybe that's why it worked for me Question

I really don't think so, Jimmy. Couldn't it be you are talking about folding forward the seat backs only and not folding away bench and back for a completely flat surface SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE BUG AND SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE WINDSHIELD

it's not so much a question of the position of the backrest but more of the position of the entire seat. If you have shortish legs your seat will be positioned more forward. I have quite long legs and have the seat positioned at almost the rearmost setting. SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE BUG AND SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE WINDSHIELD

Yes Roland, I know what happens when you have long legs (I have two of them myself!) Rolling Eyes Wink

What I was suggesting was that if you have the backrest angled further away, that will limit how far you can return the seat base when you have the rear seats folded up. What I'm saying is, it can't be a design fault with the car as I (and Jimmy) aren't affected by it. It must to do with how you have the seat configured, surely? Very Happy

Sounds promising, Shmoogle, and now there is a shimmer of hope. Very Happy

I also do have the backrest pretty upright, but at the same time have both rear and front parts of the seat bench at their lowest settings. I will now have to try a few alternative settings and see whether it makes a difference.

No, no, it is with a completly flat position of the rear seats. And I do drive with the front seat qui back from the wheel. Range Rover Vogue ‘17 TDV6

Well I'm a short a*se at 5'7" and I find that my most comfortable driving position is with the seat almost right back on the bump stops and the back upright...............................















































....... it makes putting my feet up on the dash so much easier when I am using the cruise control on a long motorway drive. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Now let's be serious again.

Just back from my garage. Umberto was actually right. It's the hard structure or whatever you call it on top and in the middle of the larger section of the rear seats where the seat belt for the middle seat is attached which hinders full movement of the driver's seat. Looking at interior photos of both left and right-hand driven cars that layout is the same.

Now with a UK spec car that bump touches the back of the pax seat which is much less of a problem, but in a left-hand driven cars it's right at the back of the drivers seat, hence the very limited rearward movement.

So it's no design fault as long it's a UK spec car, but it's a major issue for all us other guys not living in a country belonging to the Commonwealth Big Cry
