Hello, I noticed a strange noise from my rear wheel, so I stripped the brakes and removed the disc, to find one of the shoes had lost it's spring clip and pin. after replacing the shoes with new, a new disc, and alo new pads, I drove the RRS for a couple of miles, but when I arrived at my home, I applied the handbrake, which was about the fifth time since refitting the parts, and it didnt work, I had a warning on the screen saying handbrake is off lift lever to set it, a strange noise came from the rear so I stripped the brakes again to find the cable had come away from the shoe connection when I tried to pull slack enough to reconnect it is solid. Any advice or ideas would help.

It sounds like the EPB is still set on,, if you imagine the module has pulled the cables tight to engage the shoes but the cable has come adrift it will just wind the cable in tight. Have you tried releasing the handbrake to see if the cable extends. Failing that I'm sure there is a way to manually unwind the cables from the module. If you manage to get it sorted make sure the EPB is adjusted correctly,, take a look at bodsy's brake bible for an illustrated step by step procedure as it has to be correct. 2010 RRS, TDV8
