In the past few weeks we've had more enquiries for SC engines RR Sports then ever before, loads of people are trying to get their hands on examples around the £30k mark, and their intention: Gas it up.. even diesel i think isn't offering people the savings that it should be on the 4x4 market with the increased fuel prices.

In Pakistan whenever i go back there, to hire a car, its cheaper to get hold of a diesel car, every saloon, civic's, corrolla's, charisma's etc ALL have CNG conversion, which to my knowledge is the same/similar to LPG? So everyone want to run these as they work out more powerful/quicker in petrol mode and economy of the Gas when you run out of go juice.

I have to say, having a petrol engine with a petrol fuel tank, and a CNG tank which you fill up from EVERY petrol station, gives you a range in a 1.8 VVTI Civic of around 700 miles, which is great.. plus the switch over is easy, button on the right hand side, it does effect performance i noticed, in CNG it had about 60% of the guts then in petrol mode, but for the saving and the ease of filling etc, was well worth the sacrifice.

Not sure about losing 1/2 the boot space, and having a large gas cannister in the boot, which i don't know for sure? but looked a hell of a lot more explosive then a protected petrol tank may be in a large rear end collission?

Not sure i would fork out for the conversion here, as it would take many miles to reep the savings back, but i like the idea of hybrid equivalent cars coming out in the not to distant future.. Bluetech Merc engines im particularly keeping my eyes on.
