A/C running hot

Hello all

i have tried my A/C for the first time this weekend since buying the call and i have found that its blowing hot air

i have spoken to my local LR dealer as the car is an approved used and i have been told that i need to pay £300-400 for them just to diagnose the issue and that they never need to be recharged so it will not be that

is this correct ?

Discovered something similar yesterday: the ambient air was cold (+-16C), yet when I put the fan on, it started blowing hot air, even with the temperature set at 16C (no aircon).

the car just came back from a service, maybe they messed up the filter change? --

Any independent garage with AC gassing machine can run diag, to check system. They do lose gas if not used as seals harden as oil needs to circulate. Regas should be no more than £150 (they need 800g of gas for 4 zone which os quite a lot).

I would just take it back to them and tell them it isn't working. Kev

Just had the same issue in my car.

They did a recharge and as no obvious damage have added some dye into the air con system.

I’ve got to take it back in a couple of weeks, if the dye can been seen then they will look to repair under the approved warranty, if no dye found they will charge me the £180 for the recharge. MY2017 RRS Capathian Grey

They're trying to put you off getting it looked at so it falls outside the 6 months from purchase. Within 6 months, they are required to fix it. Take it back and insist that they fix it as required by the law.

Quote:
Faults, repairs and refunds
Under the new act, if a fault renders the product not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose or not as described, then the buyer is entitled to reject it within the first 30 days.

Between 30 days and 6 months
If a fault comes to light after 30 days but before 6 months you’re entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.

It’s assumed in law that the fault was present at the time of purchase unless the seller can prove otherwise.
Unless you’ve agreed otherwise, the seller (dealer) has only one opportunity to repair (or replace) the faulty vehicle after which, if they fail to repair it, you’re entitled to a refund.
In the event of a refund following a failed attempt at repair during the first six months the seller may make a 'reasonable' adjustment to the amount refunded to take account of the use that you’ve had of the vehicle.

After 6 months

The burden is on you to prove that the product was faulty at the time of delivery if you want to pursue a claim for repair or replacement.

Hello
Did you buy with credit? And did it say on the advert it had aircon.
I paid the deposit for mine with a credit card and paid cash for the rest. I had a faulty heated windscreen, and they tried everything to try get out of replacing it, contacted barclay card (only paid a couple of hundred deposit)
They sorted it out in no time..
The dealer doesn't have a leg to stand on, just threaten to share your experience.
Hope you get it sorted MY12 RRS HSE

perfect result. My freind runs a very busy garage and says most manufacturers only fill cars with enough gas to make the system function. So with RRs it can take 800g but will still work with 405g. They have tested new cars straight from the showroom and found this to be the case, sneaky eh!

Gents, if the engine has been working hard, is it normal for the non-aircon air to be hot? Question --
