Does this mean that the "auto" position on the stalk reverts to a normal intermittent wipe?
If so then please please advise how you did it as the auto-wipe is the single most useless feature I have ever experienced, it's at the point now where I drive along manually flicking a single wipe when needed.

Best mod I did was replace the very outdated head unit with a Pioneer double din one with Apple Car Play. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue
2005 4.2L Supercharged Java Black - gone but was my first love.

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

Auto wipe is in place of a proper intermittent wipe setting so if you put it to "off" then you have no wipers. Auto wipers is rubbish. Disabling auto wipers using the IID Tool allows the use of the intermittent wiper mode instead. Much more useful.

I use Rain-X on my screen which means I can usually get away without using the wipers other than a manual flick now and then, especially at motorway speeds. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

You have to alter the CCF. This can be done with the IID Tool, but any other suitable tool that can safely alter the CCF should be able to do it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Do we have members on here who have the right kit for doing this type of thing or is it dealer only... I only ask because the previous BMW forum I was a member of had a number of guys who did the coding side of things in exchange for beer tokens and it seemed to work pretty well.

My best mod was to fit the kit for the remote Fuel Burning Heater to my 2008 RRS. I use it the first time I start it each day that I plan to go out both in summer and winter. Hopefully it is saving a bit of wear on the engine if its been warmed up a bit.

I would have mentioned my chrome embellishments to the car as well, but I know that the purists would have been after my blood. Well I like them, and my car is definitely individual - there's not another one like it Shocked Rolling with laughter Robin

I think the IID BT tool favoured a lot on this site is vehicle ID number specific although I believe you can add other VINs for a fee (£25??). Other diagnostic tools may be different. Robin

Must be the only person that hasn't modded their wiper switch and I found it really a useful feature today as every time I went through a puddle (and there are LOTS around here) it wipes the screen clean without my fumbling for the wiper whilst driving on blindly Very Happy

Still not decided on my best mod, I have so many...

I agree - auto wipe is the best thing since canned beer. Because it is generally very dry where live, I do leave the wipers on the off position to prevent dry wipes when big fat moths plaster the winsdcreen and activate the sensor but if rain is in the air the wipers are switched to auto and work brilliantly. 07MY RRS TDV6

I'm forever forgetting to turn mine 'off' - I'm used to the BMW which resets to off every time you turn the ignition off (it's a momentary button press rather than the wiper arm up one click in the RRS) - and every now and then it will remind me .. by clearing absolutely nothing off the windscreen when it's bone dry for no apparent reason Laughing 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S

I've just remembered another mod I did a while back and it's something that I, and my passengers, find incredibly useful...

...wiring up the rear interior lights to come on when the doors open.

I still can't believe why someone in LR thought it would be a good idea not to have this functionality by design Rolling Eyes Kev
