United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
Hdc fault,suspension lowered,transmission fault, enginefault

Ok here goes

I have a Range Rover sport 3.6 tdv8

When driving along and also stationary I get the hdc fault, transmission fault, suspension lowered, engine fault
The cluster will then light up loke a Christmas tree with all the lights flashing including the hazards with the speedo and fuel gauge needles jumping around erratically.

I have change the battery, brake light switch and was recommend to have the cluster rebuilt but I’m still having the same issues. Now the auto electrician that carried out the work stated that the errors would occur and the voltage wouldn’t drop or spike so he doesn’t think it’s the alternator.

It failed mot last week due to fluid leek from the anti roll bar at rear. I’ve since been told that the drop links are also shot. Mechanic reckons this could be the cause of the faults but I’m not so sure.

The errors codes always come up the same with intermittent fault of loss of communication for hdc etc

Any help would be appreciated as my next port of call will be a can of petrol and box of matches

There only lack of comms could be anything like a loose cable a faulty switch or a spike in the alternator causing these what code reader was it a Land Rover specific or a general reaver Thumbs Up

I’ve had three different brake switches in the car
The bulbs have been the same since I bought it a year ago
And they are all working fine as only mot problem was the leaking anti roll bar

It was a Foxwell nt520 reader with Land Rover software

Where are the grounding points located so I can check them?
The auto electrician checked in beside ecu etc and all wiring was fine

There are various points all over as the hoc uses the brakes as well it could be in the connectors to the terrain respond the hand brake circuit if o were you I would go a search for your problem on here you may get a better idea or try to get the codes read with an IDD tool or similar Thumbs Up

From what you’ve commented, I can confirm your vehicle is working as expected.

Rolling Eyes 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
