United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black
Towbar Electrics

Hi Guys,

can anyone help me out with a part number for the Towbar electrics on MY12 HSE RRS. looking for a 13 pin setup.

I had a look online and there seems to be a few different ones, am I right in saying that the harness just need plugged in?

I already have the Hitch that I kept from Disco 3.

Cheers
Craig

I bought the 2010 kit as it was the same price as the 2012 kit and just used the trailer harness’ and sold on the 2010 parts. There are blanks (non pinned male connectors) on the female connectors which if you can get the pins, would enable the use of bog standard cabling and connectors instead of the expensive LR items. Had I known earlier, that’s what I would have done. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

gstuart on Disco3 knows the connector pin type used I think.

The later RRS require the towbar enabling in CCF

The L/R part number for the 13 pin kit on a MY12 car is VPLST0071 and the N & S one is VPLST0070. At £125.00 bit pricey but might be able to use number to cross reference to pattern part or find wiring diagram.

Don't know if this is of any use just shows which pin are which in the plug.

Found this as well, might help, but may need to go into my gallery to enlarge it so easier to read.

I used VPLST0014 which is for the 10 and 11 MY but only used the 12n & 12s looms (which is the same as you get in the VPLST0070 kit) and sold the other bit on.

If you get a generic 13 pin plug and loom as shown in Cols pic, I can post the wiring details and part numbers and you maybe able to just buy the pins and instal into your existing male blanking plugs (the blanking plugs are the correct connectors just with no pins) It would save you a fortune. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

That needs updating to accommodate the 13 pin socket as well.

Hi

Is it just the pins u want for the terminal block Whistle

Happy to share the link if u want them and where to buy them from

Also made up my own lead for my D3 , so I could charge via the 12s socket

I also fitted a trailer socket at the front of the house , so when I parked on the drive was easy to plug an extension lead in to charge my dual battery set up , charger is in the hallway
