hi, if you have tpms, they can oxidise(weld)onto the aluminium dustcap.which i found to my cost |

Yep mine welded on, difficult to get off switch to cheap plastic ones, much less hassle |

Always use plastic caps,,we have one customer a week come into our place that can't remove the metal caps cos they have welded themselves on as the valve stem is brass.

I use stainless steel one's, never had any problems also check t/p's on regular basis so proably helps.

Electrolytic or galvanic corrosion. Brass to Aluminium is a bad combination. Stainless is OK but plastic is easiest and cheapest.

just put copper slip on the threads and they will be ok, ive been doing it this way for 10 years 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater |
