Jump starter

Been thinking of getting a power pack to keep in the car and wondered if anyone would know if something like this would have enough power to jump start my v8 08???

It will be great if it would but I'm aware they are temperamental

Unless someone can recommend it specifically for such a big diesel engine, I wouldn't buy it without knowing what cranking amps it produces (which doesn't seem to be included in the blurb).

New battery sounds like the preferred option to me In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Check the 'CCA' on your existing battery (that's the cranking amps).

Contact the supplier of the power pack and ask them what the cold cranking amps for it are. If it looks woeful compared with 800, you risk it not starting your car (assuming your battery is as dead as last time - normally you would get some assistance from it when jump starting). If, as is likely, they don't know, then I wouldn't bother with it. There are other similar power packs out there that do indicate the CCA.

FWIW, I have a 900A jump pack, and while it will start a completely dead TDV8, it does struggle...

Unless you are a trader, wouldn't you guys be better off using that money for a nice shiny new battery?

or CTEK charger if you have power in your garage etc.
