Hi , what would be the best way of checking this Dr rob , generally speaking the car seems to drive fine on most roads but you notice a solid thump when going over rough road surfaces which I had put down to sports suspension being firm , but since driving the disco 4 the ride quality is so much better in the discovery , steering seems more refined as well |

This could well be a bushes issue but if you have larger wheels and low profile tyres compared to the disco then this will give you a harsher ride over the crap potholed roads we see these days.

Wheels on my tdv8 are standard 20 inch rims running on 275/45/20 I opted to putting 45 profile to help with ride which definately improved things last summer , I have checked both front wheel bearings by jacking up each corner and checking for any play and found nothing , I suspect wishbone bushing being the culprits as my car has covered 95000 miles and I have no history of either being replaced at any stage |

Perhaps take it to an independent LR specialist for their assessment?

As olly said, I changed the front lower arms on mine and also did wheel bearings the same time as I could hear a rumble when going round right hand bends. It was like Frizington a new car when they had been done. If yours is on 95k they must be ready for replacement by now.
