Vibration question

I've noticed slight vibration from my tdv8 when I accelerate hard , especially when accelerating when example leaving a roundabout , seems to be front end as if whole front end is rumbling / vibration sensation ? I am wondering if this points towards wishbones or steering column as I've been considering having wishbones replaced for a while now . Recently took a discovery 4 out for a spin that had recently had wishbones replaced and the whole ride experience was fantasticly smooth and the car just seemed to glide beautifully , but could this be because it's not so harsh as my rrs suspension , any thoughts welcome

Hi , what would be the best way of checking this Dr rob , generally speaking the car seems to drive fine on most roads but you notice a solid thump when going over rough road surfaces which I had put down to sports suspension being firm , but since driving the disco 4 the ride quality is so much better in the discovery , steering seems more refined as well

This could well be a bushes issue but if you have larger wheels and low profile tyres compared to the disco then this will give you a harsher ride over the crap potholed roads we see these days.
My suspension noise problems over the last 6 months have been largely cured by a new lower front wishbone and 2 new wheel bearings. To test for the wheel bearings, drive at low speed and turn the steering wheel. If you get a graunching sound it's probably a front bearing. Rear bearings can be heard again at low speed trundling away. Your back seat passenger should be able to tell you which side. Your local Indie should be able to help confirm such a diagnosis.
Get this sorted before you start looking for the vibration issue as it may solve both your problems Robin

Wheels on my tdv8 are standard 20 inch rims running on 275/45/20 I opted to putting 45 profile to help with ride which definately improved things last summer , I have checked both front wheel bearings by jacking up each corner and checking for any play and found nothing , I suspect wishbone bushing being the culprits as my car has covered 95000 miles and I have no history of either being replaced at any stage

Perhaps take it to an independent LR specialist for their assessment?

As olly said, I changed the front lower arms on mine and also did wheel bearings the same time as I could hear a rumble when going round right hand bends. It was like Frizington a new car when they had been done. If yours is on 95k they must be ready for replacement by now.
If you drive very slowly and dab the brakes you will hear a clunk if the arms need replacing. 2010 RRS, TDV8
