More trunk space than the Sport? Really? Its told us something we already know the Velar does not cost less than the Sport. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

Have the dealers got the Velar Brochures now ?
I see that its downloadable but would prefer a proper brochure.
Also anyone seen the silicon Silver?

Not sure about the paper brochures but I guess they would if they have the PDFs now.

Silicon Silver was the colour you see on all the launch pictures I posted earlier on the launch event. It's nice.

Thanks RRSman.
I see you have cancelled the new Sport, Velar must be good. When is it due? SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

I have indeed cancelled my new sport that was being delivered this month (is now at the dealership). Not sure when the Velar will arrive but the values of the RRS are most certain to take a hit and doing my maths keeping an £80k car for circa 4-6 months with a newer sibling showcasing major new technology would indeed be a disaster for residuals.

I really do have high hopes of the Velar from what I have seen so far (gone for the 3.0d HSE Dynamic R) Thumbs Up

I appreciate its all about taste but from what I saw today the Velar is probably the least attractive vehicle in the current range.

The front grill in my opinion is cosmetic first - protection second. I could clearly see the horn on the drivers side in front of the radiator. The rear wheel arches (which are protected by the Censored rubber strips on the RRS & other models are none existent) infact you can feel the sharp panel edges Sad
I have the same trim around my curved tv that is part of the brightwork that runs from fender into the door.

The rear badge & trim lettering looks poorly placed. I even commented that a passing Discovery Sport was more appealing Very Happy

The above is only my opinion but I was not impressed Big Cry 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

That's because what you saw was the poverty spec £50k model Wink

Wait until you see a "proper one" Thumbs Up

By the way, where was that?

Surprised you saw this one then and not the HSE Dynamic R. It's like comparing a bog standard HSE RRS to a Full Fat AB with a coloured roof! Poles apart in the looks department...

Yes i agree the top spec ones are stunning. imo makes all other RRs dated.
Personally i just can't stand the rear end of the sport imo the Velar is much improved.

Ok - when I come across the other versions I will genuinely revisit my opinion - Embarassed until then from what I saw today I'm afraid the body shape with or without the trimmings is not attractive at all.

Watch this space Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

I agree 100%.

The basic Evoques look Censored too when compared with the Dynamics...similar story here too!

Come on PEACHY even this supposedly 'poverty spec' variant is much better looking than ANY version of Evoque. In my eyes anyway. I do feel the rear end is a bit of a let down for Velar but then even RRS2 isn't particularly attractive in that area either. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top
Gone: MY16 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Carpathian Grey & Santorini Black Sliding Pano/Ebony & Ivory 2 Tone
Gone: MY13 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition, Orkney Grey/Ivory
Gone: MY09 RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE, Santorini Black/Almond

Ah, that'll be LR's strategy working then: make the cheap ones look a bit "meh" but the expensive ones cover up the bad bits with some paint. Result is that people who worry about looks spend big money for some trim/paint.

Brilliant really. Whistle Bow down 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
