More trunk space than the Sport? Really? Its told us something we already know the Velar does not cost less than the Sport. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black. |

Not sure about the paper brochures but I guess they would if they have the PDFs now.

I have indeed cancelled my new sport that was being delivered this month (is now at the dealership). Not sure when the Velar will arrive but the values of the RRS are most certain to take a hit and doing my maths keeping an £80k car for circa 4-6 months with a newer sibling showcasing major new technology would indeed be a disaster for residuals.

I appreciate its all about taste but from what I saw today the Velar is probably the least attractive vehicle in the current range.

That's because what you saw was the poverty spec £50k model |

What's the proper one look like then - a RRS SVR |

Surprised you saw this one then and not the HSE Dynamic R. It's like comparing a bog standard HSE RRS to a Full Fat AB with a coloured roof! Poles apart in the looks department... |

Come on PEACHY even this supposedly 'poverty spec' variant is much better looking than ANY version of Evoque. In my eyes anyway. I do feel the rear end is a bit of a let down for Velar but then even RRS2 isn't particularly attractive in that area either. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top Gone: MY16 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Carpathian Grey & Santorini Black Sliding Pano/Ebony & Ivory 2 Tone Gone: MY13 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition, Orkney Grey/Ivory Gone: MY09 RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE, Santorini Black/Almond |

Ah, that'll be LR's strategy working then: make the cheap ones look a bit "meh" but the expensive ones cover up the bad bits with some paint. Result is that people who worry about looks spend big money for some trim/paint. Brilliant really. ![]() ![]() 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
