If the ACE bar was leaking and you now have no oil in the reservoir its the first place I would look for the source of the leak.

Although mine is a 2010 model I had a similar issue last month. the o rings on the supply pipes are your first easy check but like me you might have a slightly fractured hydraulic pipe. A doable self repair but I was lucky to have access to a pit and a helpful father in law with a compressor. My pipe was £200 from Landrover (dealer only) which came with the o rings!

How far is the garage away? Might be worth topping up the oil so that the pump isn't run dry. A new DR pump on top of a new DR bar would be annoying.

Thats probably the better news then as not the bar itself I resume the diagnosis is a damaged pipe (not sure how that has happened) or a leak further up the line

The TDV8 has a two piece pipe, I think, so replacement should be relatively painless. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
