TDV8 Suspension red light on and significant oil loss

Red suspension light on and when got home obvious oil loss from under front end of car which had spread backwards over rest underside. Not from transfer box but can't see above lower sheild to see where it is coming from. Not engine oil - very thin and light brown fluid. My front ace bar has always leaked a bit but has it now completely let go? Oil levels ok for steering but ace reservoir looks pretty empty. Car seems to drive fine but can't check gearbox oil level. Nervous about driving it in case cause damage . If the front ace has gone can it repaired new deals etc or do I have to spend 800 on a new one?

If the ACE bar was leaking and you now have no oil in the reservoir its the first place I would look for the source of the leak.

If you are really lucky then its one of the O rings on the ACE pipe connection to the ACE bar RVW500010 HERE (£1 each and you will need two ) .

If however its the end seals on the bar itself then you need the whole bar at £550 plus VAT like THIS and you will still need the O Rings as well Laughing

The good news is it comes with new bushes and clamps too Thumbs Up

The bad news is you need special tools @ £150 to do the job TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten

Thanks Rob.

Would I be safe driving the car to the garage without causing further damage?

Although mine is a 2010 model I had a similar issue last month. the o rings on the supply pipes are your first easy check but like me you might have a slightly fractured hydraulic pipe. A doable self repair but I was lucky to have access to a pit and a helpful father in law with a compressor. My pipe was £200 from Landrover (dealer only) which came with the o rings!
Good luck, I totally understand a drive covered in power steering fluid.

How far is the garage away? Might be worth topping up the oil so that the pump isn't run dry. A new DR pump on top of a new DR bar would be annoying.

In terms of "safe", it's OK to drive with a malfunctioning bar but do so slowly as you may have reduced road holding. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Hi

Seems the pipe that feeds the hydraulic front ace bar unit is leaking fluid somewhere above where it meets the ace unit - now what?! Sad

Thats probably the better news then as not the bar itself I resume the diagnosis is a damaged pipe (not sure how that has happened) or a leak further up the line

Options are to replace the pipe with whole new pipe or get the pipe repaired in situ by someone like http://www.pirtek.co.uk/ TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten

The TDV8 has a two piece pipe, I think, so replacement should be relatively painless. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Update!

Fractured ace pipe just off front hydraulic ram. Body off - brake and other ace pipes corroded (inc in valve block) and rear ace bar ram leaking. Replaced all ace pipes front to rear and main inaccessible brake pipes plus rear ace bar and new value block. Body back on - job done.

I cannot recommend Egdon Indep LR Specialist in Worcester highly enough (speak to Matt). Their labour charge was incredibly reasonable to such a huge job.
