Steering wheel offset

Ever since my steering wheel's rotary coupler was replaced under warranty due to slight play, the steering wheel has been offset slightly when driving dead ahead. Silly me, I didn't get it corrected at the time but I was busy! Rolling Eyes

I have reported this to garages since... 3 times, 3 different garages, and all 3 have done laser wheel alignment. And each time it's done nothing to rectify it. Enough is enough! How is an issue like this resolved do you think? Does the steering wheel need to be taken off and reset in some way?

The work was done by Beadles in Sidcup, a garage I no longer live near and would never recommend, so I guess I do not have huge faith in them taking meticulous care when the swapped this out back then. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

RR London are going to take a look on Friday and are confident they can sort it out.

Steering Wheel Straight Ahead Position

I am extremely fussy about my steering wheel being straight (and I mean straight) when driving on road with normal camber. I find that it takes 3 to 4 goes by a tyre shop to get it right when they have done a wheel alignment hence if my car drives straight I don't get the wheels aligned - why would you and cause yourself a whole load of grief. A static wheel alignment in the shop with the wheel straight will not result in a driving situation on normal camber with the wheel straight.
My view is for the life of the tyres if they wear OK don't touch the wheel alignment - no reason to do so.

I tell the dealer "do not touch my wheels during a service" no rotation no nothing. In the past I have found any dealer action requiring wheels to be taken off results in scratching around wheeel nuts on the rim.

Good luck. It seems almost no-one can ever carry out a 4 wheel alignment properly. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Well... It's now 95% right.

The airbag was removed and it showed the wheel was correctly fitted (sorry Beadles). It's just my car is a complete pig to 4-wheel align, even with the latest Hunter kit. Confused L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

With everything correct except the steering wheel on a BMW, I just moved the wheel so it was now dead central on spine, not offset 5 degrees, re lock, no further problems. Don't know if you can adjust just the steering wheel like that on the RRS but you can on most. John
