Changing Tyres/ Removing Wheels

So recently I had someone out to repair a wheel after I ever so lightly kissed a kerb. The guy who attended said the car should be locked out otherwise when he raises the car on a jack the car could fight the movement and maybe set an airbag off, apparently they do a lot of Range Rovers.

My car was already at access height so I just locked it out and he went about his business, this was about 2-3 weeks ago. I have had absolutely no issues whatsoever and my 4x4 display is all green.

So my question is what is the correct procedure? I thought it was set to offroad height then jack away? I plan to remove all 4 wheels soon to apply GTeqnic C5 Wheel Armour and I would just like some clarification. Car is a 2011 3.0L V6 RR Sport

I've never heard of an airbag going off from jacking the car up. There are sensors to detect a sudden deceleration or acceleration to trigger airbag inflation and you'd have to be extremely vigourous and speedy in your jacking to trigger one. I believe it's best to raise the car to 'off road' height to lessen the jacking as the car will try to level itself out from normal height, but others have said it doesn't matter that much. The car will soon sort itself out afterwards. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

The Wheel repair guy needs to stop listening to his mates down the pub, the correct jacking procedure is in your handbook 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))

I'm inclined to think he was talking of dislodging a Air Suspension Airbag not the Crash One's, even so it is still crap taking in to account you see these vehicles off road with one wheel hanging in the Air.

Cheers

Correct me if im wrong, but locking at access only increase the speed limit to about 20mph.
No physical locking of the suspension.

The guy was talking a load of bull you can jack the car at any hight. If your at home using a trolley Jack then you need to jack under the sus arms not the chassis as you'll hit the jack max and the wheels will still be on the ground. When I use a 2 poster ramp I put the car into off road height if you leave it in normal the cars tend to drop down onto the bump stops but in off road there locked. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current
