If you have a genuine, mechanical gearbox fault, a flush is likely to finish off the gearbox...

Hi Guys thanks for your replies, just had timing belts and engine oil change done ( picked her up at 5pm tonight) and on test drive they noticed she was not changing gear as she should be. They checked for fault codes but nothing showing up. This was at a local independant land rover specialist.

RRS booked in for mega flush next week, checked the oil and it is almost black. Will have a look at the brake light switch as well. Both Brake light bulbs replaced recently.

Hi Hamner the Mega flush/ gearbox service that i had done did make a difference to the gear change, but i have had the Fault 'limited gears available' since the oil change. The Gearbox service was more than just a flush as they also changed the Oil pan and filter and was not cheap at £450. If you just want a flush and you are not getting the Gearbox fault as i have been having, then yes i would go for the Mega flush. The gear change improvement was noticeable from pulling away from the Garage.
