At least I got it at trade price from Brookwells. Shame I missed the pricing error though. Big Cry

If I were to do it again I would go for the RS500 without a doubt though. Whistle Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

I managed to get a trade price from Alisport so it was not to painfull. Having looked at the RS500 it does not look very tailor made as the Alisport.

The RS500 is not a direct fit, and does require a little modification to fit, but it's a £350 saving, and is actually a bigger cooler Whistle

I'm going to do the EGR blanking and seen a few kits on eBay but they range from £17 to £100 but look the same.
Is there any difference. The guy selling the kit for £100 has the same bits in as the £17 kit and he's sold 36 of them?!
Why would people pay £100 for this when they can get it cheaper? Is it better?
Would I be ok with the £17 kit?

EGR Blanking kit

For my money the DA1112 from Britpart is the most comprehensive, don't forget to remove the butter fly valve from the air inlet.
From memory the kit comes with a comprensive fitting instruction.

Can also recomend a Hiclonehttp://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/ItemList--Hiclone--m-12572 in the air inlet after the air filter, not so much for fuel saving but performance.

Cheers Disco mikey.
Just couldn't understand why people are buying them at over £100 when others were £17.

I'll get the cheaper ones.

Thumbs Up

Mine were even cheaper. Made out of a scrap piece of angle iron that was lying around Laughing

I've heard of people cutting a coke can up and into the shape of the blanking bit but I'll stick to eBay.

In my instructions it mentioned nothing about butterfly valve.

Plus I'm having trouble removing the torx screw on the left pipe. I just can't get to it. I can't think of any tool that will fit.
It's the lower screw at the top of the pipe. Can anyone help please as I need the car tomorrow afternoon and it's just a nightmare.

Have you seen this?: http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...0SMALL.pdf

Have you unclipped the pipes and twisted the butterfly housing up (don't go too far)?

You need to remove the butterfly valve or it will block off the air flow when it shuts. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Thanks for the instructions.
What a pig of a job!!!
Especially that bottom screw going into the air box.
Took me ages to get that out. If it wasn't for that plastic fan cover then it'd be a lot easier.
Felt like cutting through it but I stuck at it and got there eventually after dropping the spanner & socket into the engine.

Glad I had one of those extending magnetic things so I could retrieve them.

I've not driven the car yet but I'm off to work later so I'll let you know if I find any difference.

Not much difference really.
Unless there's something going on that I'm not seeing.

Oh well.

If you didn't notice a difference, your valves were probably working OK Thumbs Up
But they will fail at some point, so at least now you won't be stranded

It may be worth checking your turbo hoses, as I have seen a few split shortly after blanking off the EGRs Thumbs Up
