Does anyone know what causes the black oblongs that show up when high beam is selected on my 2011 MY.

Hi,
I'm by no means an expert on subject, but I understand that dip / main beam is switched using a shade in the light unit, looks like it's not clearing properly on main beam!
Someone with tech info will be along soon.

Sounds like a good starting point. I’ll do a bit more research on the web but any more technical input would be very helpful.

On a recent visit to the UK I used the changeover levers in the headlight units to change from LHD lighting to RHD and back again. I wonder if I’ve done something when removing and replacing the headlight units, which I needed to do to make the changes?

Hi Andrew, removed the grill and headlight units.

Removed the round rubber cover to access the lamp area and there are two sets of levers. One set of plastic levers that hold the lamp in place and a thin metal lever that changes the direction from LHD to RHD.

When I first went in to change the lamp direction as per the handbook instructions I only saw the plastic lever.
Moved it back to its original location and then moved the metal one to its correct position. Problem solved!
