How do you turn the rear brake drum?

I was painting my callipers and drums today but could not work out how to turn the rear hub to paint all the way around it. I didn't have the parking brake on as that would obvious stop it and I tried in in the drive, neutral and parked gear selections, the front wheel would turn but the back wouldn't

What was I doing wrong? Sad

If I remember correctly when carrying out adjustment of the rear parking brake you have to turn the rear hubs by putting a big socket on the hub nut. More details in Bodsy's brake bible which you will find on the forum. There is a correct torque for when you can just turn the hub. Hope that helps. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
