That looks like the ashtray insert. If it is that, what was it doing under the bonnet

Christ now that you look at it so it is, and now you say it I wondered how icould see the wiring from the ciggy lighter! How on earth did it end up in there? I've just had the car a couple of months and it's the first time I've accessed the engine compartment.

Ha Peachy you posted as I was typing, I'm not a smoker so the lid is always shut but I did remember thinking it looked a bit odd the fag lighter body showing but just closed it and thought no more of it 2007 RRS 2.7 HSE - Java Black |

Did the same with a torch - not on the Sport but an old XR3i - jumped the battery in the dark - it stayed there for months 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Don't think I'll be needing tools in the sport engine bay, first modern motor I've had, I tended to buy old work horses. One look under the hood today was like wtf where the hell do ya start!
