Small cover found under bonnet

Hey chaps

While accessing the engine bay today to get at my brake fluid reservoir I came across this lying loose, any idea where it's from?

That is the ashtray.

May have been removed to be cleaned - pre purchase - left under the bonnet by mistake - this now means more questions ???

When did you purchase the RRS ? Is this the first time you have had the bonnet up ? Did you not notice the ashtray insert missing or has it been replaced ?

Christ now that you look at it so it is, and now you say it I wondered how icould see the wiring from the ciggy lighter! How on earth did it end up in there? I've just had the car a couple of months and it's the first time I've accessed the engine compartment.

Cheers lads that's a bloody good spot, I messed about under the bonnet for about an hour scratching my head Mr. Green 2007 RRS 2.7 HSE - Java Black

Ha Peachy you posted as I was typing, I'm not a smoker so the lid is always shut but I did remember thinking it looked a bit odd the fag lighter body showing but just closed it and thought no more of it Embarassed 2007 RRS 2.7 HSE - Java Black

Laughing
I once used pliers to unclip those stubborn headlight clips to switch the beam to left hand drive mode (pre facelift RRS required that) while in the Chunnel. On my return to the UK I found the pliers had done the whole 2300 mile trip to Austria and back sitting in the engine bay.

Don't think I'll be needing tools in the sport engine bay, first modern motor I've had, I tended to buy old work horses. One look under the hood today was like wtf Rolling with laughter where the hell do ya start!

New rear pads and osr caliper today, first time I've done work on motor myself for years. 2007 RRS 2.7 HSE - Java Black
