That would be the cornering lamp which can't be switched on manually. Only comes on automatically when you are turning (pretty sure you need to be indicating as well) at low-ish speeds. You'll notice it is pointing at an angle, to light up the corner you are turning into. |

Yes, the car needs to be moving but at a low speed so that the cornering light doesn't come on when you are changing lanes on a motorway for example. Take a look at the owner's handbook if you need more details. |

May be it detects steering wheel angle. I never take a turn without indicating so to me cornering lamps only seem to come on after indicating. Will try without indicator to confirm. Btw cornering lamps should not be confused with adaptive headlamps which are not fitted to all cars. Adaptive ones actually rotate the main headlight beam based on steering wheel position and work at high speeds too. |

Where adaptive lights are fitted, the cornering lights activate without a turn signal if the vehicle's speed is in the correct range. In the adaptive system, the "cornering lights" are called "static bending lamps" - they're the same bulbs in the same location but they are used differently.

I love them, all but their horrible yellow colour, what bulb do I need to buy to make them match the main beam's 5500k temp? |

Because they come on as you indicate and turn, just look at the ground as you next turn at night. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled
