What have you got - the whole of the plastic trim with the inserts or just the polished inserts ? 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

As you have stated the outer plate should come off easy but the warmer the better - if needed use a hair dryer on the plate this helps agitate the adhesive. Finger power should be enough - take your time. When I replaced mine I replaced the whole trim plastic which came with the inner plates inserted already. Do the named - inner plates have clips or adhesive - I'm sure they are clipped - There are 2 ways - either remove the whole trim which is easy enough or just the sill plate ( I've never done it that way ). By removing the whole trim you can get a better grip on the plates both taking off & replacing.

I took the plastic sills off, but the attached stainless steel part wouldnt budge. So I've bought replacement bog standard plastic trim from LR (£21 per side) and will attach the new stainless steel covers to them instead. |
