HELP 58 TDV8 engine runs but no power :-(

hey guys could anyone give me a heads up as to whats wrong with my TDV8, driving last nite and all the power just cut out and the "engine system fault" came up on the dash along with the headlight levelling warning light. The car was still running and would even rev up but not give any power. had to get green flag to bring me home didn't get in till 3am!! gutted Sad

cheers for the help, Simon Simon AKA TADDY

Did green flag plug it in to get any fault codes or just recover you?

seizing actuator could possibly be reset with ignition

poor idle and no proper throttle response would be egr

are the turbo pipes under the bonnet covered with oil film? (one or both)

Probably the actuator rods, but they can be lubed/free'd off.

Turbo hoses and EGR failure are also common culprits though

Sounds exactly like a sticky actuator rod sticking on overboost, and shutting down

ok got the car back according to land rover it was a throttle peddle issue and may not happen again. they've said there next step would be to perform tests on all the electrical components which would cost a few hours labour or i can have it back and see how i go which i opted for. dose this sound like it could be rite or are they fobbing me off and my actuators are about to give up? lol

thanks for all the help guys Simon AKA TADDY

tdv8. engine runs but no power.

replace the fuel filter. most workshops ignore the fuel filter when the service the rrs. frozen diesel over time could leave residue of water in the fuel tank. the water in diesel sensor might trip and you get this. as for the afs issue, its just a coincidence
