Cruise control, nice touch

Having just got my RRS I noticed a subtle but nice improvement over my older Discovery. On the A48 near Carmarthen there are a few very long stretches of up or down hill with the cruise set at 65 the Discovery used to gather a fair bit of extra speed up when going down these hills, some times I would just let it go, or near to one spot where the scamera vans sit so brake usually to stay under 70, or course that disengages the cruise control.

But today in the RRS it changes down a gear to encourage engine braking on these stretches and held the speed under 70 avoiding a ticket and keeping the cruise engaged.

Noticed another instance of the auto box engine braking today too, going down quite a steep long hill (lots of them in Wales) not in cruise but when i eased off it changed down a gear or two and was really holding the car back, without the need to brake. The older Discovery would not have done this unless I manually selected it would have gradually increased speed as it coasted. Subtle but nice changes, I would like to try the 14MY with the 8 speed auto.
