Surge at idle

Since having my 7 year service I've noticed a slight surging/ hunting in the revs at idle. Only happens every now and again.

Has anyone any ideas before I go back to LR to moan?

It's a 2.7tdv6 with 25k

Thanks.

Fuel pump timing cannot be half a tooth out.

It is a common rail system, and the pump is only there to provide pressure to the fuel rails. It is not timed to the engine at all, that is controlled by the injectors/PCM Thumbs Up

Yeah the fuel pump timing isn't important.

I was thinking of a poor manifold seal or dodgy egr?

Anyone agree?

N/s egr sticking.

Time for a blanking kit.
