Quick release tow bar

Hi all, a friend of mine picked up my eBay purchase and then sent onto me..... Oops this is how it arrived

Now how the "flip" can I get the remains of the key out?? And at what angle dies the key have to be in relation to the towbar, 180/90degrees?? And am I right in thinking you can only get the key out once the towbar is in the receiver??

Thx in advance tt

Charge the lock until the red band is visible, on insertion the pin releases the mech to lock in place. Red band disappears. You can trick the mech to think it is engaged by depressing the pin

Easy enough to replace the full green handle and lock. Costs aprox £10 from the dealers and you get two new key's
